POTS Responds to the Coronavirus

Like all New Yorkers, the POTS community is confronting harsh new realities. POTS serves some of the most vulnerable of our Bronx neighbors, and each day this crisis continues, the problems they already face are magnified. The loss of a job, difficulties applying for public benefits, and other new challenges are exacerbating existing issues like food or housing instability, lack of child care, limited healthcare access, and behavioral health problems, among others.

We are finding that we need to address our community’s needs in new ways — and at new levels.

How POTS Helps

Part of the Solution (POTS) is doing everything possible to make sure our community continues to receive life-sustaining benefits and services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

How You Can Help

Make a neighbor’s life a whole lot better by contributing essential items, volunteering, or serving as an ambassador for our community.

POTS expects a tremendous growth in the need for funds in the coming weeks, as we expand existing programs and services and create new ones to meet rapidly-growing needs facing our most vulnerable neighbors.

The goal of the POTS’ Emergency Response Appeal is to raise $500,000 by June 30.

Get behind the POTS Makes Masks initiative. The CDC urges all Americans to wear face coverings or masks when out of doors to slow the spread of COVID-19. For many, this “new normal” is anything but normal at first. Help us encourage safe practices for our Bronx neighbors by making masks for our clients.
