Helping the Bronx Bounce Back on 10/22/20

Join Part of the Solution (POTS) on Thursday, October 22, at 7pm EST for an inspiring evening of giving honoring the resiliency of the people of the Bronx and telling the story of POTS. POTS stayed throughout the worst of the pandemic to help its community of over 30,000 low-income individuals and families. Now we’re asking for your help.
POTS will be live streaming Helping the Bronx Bounce Back on Thursday October 22nd at 7pm EST. Learn about the resilience of the people of the Bronx during an unprecedented crisis as we share our client community’s stories, and showcase the tireless work of POTS – from its origins as a soup kitchen in 1982, to meeting the challenges of the current crisis. Register at bidpal.net/bronxbouncesback.
#POTSMakesMasks
POTS clients have little or no access to high-quality masks. This is important for the homeless who are not usually able to practice social distancing. POTS is asking volunteers to make and donate cloth masks to help us encourage safe practices for our Bronx neighbors. Since late March, POTS has distributed approximately 25,000 masks to its clients. Join the POTS Makes Masks effort (#POTSMakesMasks) and become a part of the solution!

Emergency Response Appeal
Like all New Yorkers, the POTS community is confronting harsh new realities. But for our more than 30,000 clients, the pandemic means an exacerbation of instabilities many already face in their lives. The loss of a job, difficulties applying for public benefits, and other new challenges aggravate existing problems like food or housing instability, lack of child care, limited healthcare access, and behavioral health problems, among others.
We are finding we must address our community’s needs in new ways—and at new levels. This requires making an investment in the people we’ve committed to help since 1982. POTS has just launched an Emergency Response Appeal with a goal of raising $500,000 by June 30. To contribute to this campaign, you can click here or e-mail.
