POTS’ Summer 2016 Breakfast Forum: Life Below the Poverty Line – Examining the Deep and Concentrated Need of Those in the Bronx Community

Now in its third year, Part of the Solution’s (POTS) bi-annual breakfast forums have become an important vehicle for discussing issues that most impact our clients. For the individuals and families that POTS serves, the depth of need often supersedes a more basic definition of poverty.

On June 15th, POTS’ Executive Director, Chris Bean, presented findings on the extreme poverty that directly impacts POTS clients and others in the Bronx.  This presentation was followed by a Q & A with expert panelists:

Jim Buckley, University Neighborhood Housing Program (UNHP), Executive Director

Amanda Stern, Robin Hood Foundation, Program Officer in Income Security and Survival

Sarah Persily, Gerstner Family Foundation, Senior Program Officer

Emilio Tavarez, Part of the Solution, Employment Specialist

POTS would like to express a special thank you to our panelists and attendees for contributing to this important conversation.
