POTS could not accomplish its mission without the time, talent, and labor of thoughtful and caring volunteers. We are grateful to many hundreds of people who grow with our community in the fight against poverty every year.
Due to changing public health conditions and guidelines, specific opportunities and possibilities for volunteering at POTS are changing, as are the Covid-19 related rules at POTS. POTS will be following CDC and NY Department of Health guidelines. All employees that have been vaccinated have the option of wearing masks at POTS. Masks are also optional for volunteers who can provide proof of vaccination – Excelsior Pass or Vaccine Card. If you are vaccinated and would like to obtain the Excelsior pass go to https://epass.ny.gov/home.
If you are not vaccinated, you must wear a mask. In addition, if you have had contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or if you are experiencing any symptoms, we ask you do not come in to serve for the safety of our community.
We need volunteers from 8:30am to 3pm to help bag produce, move heavy boxes (at least 20 pounds), and help us pack lunch. Hand washing stations are regularly available.
If you would like to come on a weekday, you can choose a half day shift or a full day shift. If you are interested in coming in on Saturday from 8:30am to 3pm, please note we need volunteers for the full day. We are closed on Sundays.
Fill out a volunteer registration form here if you would like to come in and serve!
