POTS’ Virtual Benefit, Open Door, Open Heart
On Wednesday, May 26th at 7pm, Part of the Solution (POTS) will hold its Spring Gala virtually and honor Chris Bean and Maureen Gomez for their dedication to service, community, and our neighbors most in need.
The POTS Founders Award for Distinguished Service will be presented to Chris Bean, who as POTS Executive Director, oversaw tremendous growth in the number and quality of POTS services to the community.
Maureen Gomez, who over many years has been the driver and spirit behind the POTS Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, will be presented with El Premio de Corazón de Oro de POTS.
Open Door, Open Heart is the 2021 virtual benefit for POTS. The event will be hosted by CBS-2 News Anchor Mary Calvi, and features artists, entertainers, and community leaders. We will be visited by Chef Peter Kelly y Congressman Adriano Espaillat, and MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle will introduce our distinguished honorees.
Tune in early at 6:30pm and learn how to make a POTS Paloma with mixologist Marco Arconte of Westchester Country Club. Then join us for a pre-show toast to our honorees. POTS Paloma Kits are available for supporters $1K+.

Open Door, Open Heart will pay homage to POTS’ mission of being a loving community in the Bronx that nourishes the basic needs and hungers to all who come to its door. It will celebrate the people who serve as the back-bone of this organization, often with little notice. The previously-postponed virtual benefit has a goal of raising $350,000. Thanks to the underwriting of all event expenses by a number of Board members, 100% of funds raised will go directly to POTS programs.
