There was a lot of positive energy and excitement on April 28 and 29 at Part of the Solution as we partnered with the Mayor’s Office to host the NYC Vaccine Bus at 2759 Webster Avenue, providing some 350 COVID vaccines to community members!
Because of the convenience, many of those who received vaccines would have been unlikely to receive them elsewhere. POTS clients who are a part of our shower program and/or meal program were asked while waiting on line if they would like to get the vaccine today, and many said “yes” ─ proving once again that POTS is truly a One Stop Shop!
We saw a number of women and men with very young babies getting the shot and we imagine that it might be hard to get to a distant vaccination site with a little baby, but because of the convenience, they got their vaccines on board the bus.
