POTS’ clients are our neighbors in the Bronx. Like all New Yorkers, the POTS community is confronting harsh new realities. As this crisis continues, these new challenges are only worsening the instability many POTS clients already face. The loss of a job, or the diminishment of assets or other income, can exacerbate problems like food or housing instability, limited child care opportunities, access to healthcare, and behavioral health issues, among other problems. Here’s how you can help make a neighbor’s life a whole lot better:
1. Contribute Essential Items: Items needed include cleaning products, non-perishable healthy foods, deodorant, new underwear and socks, hand sanitizer, diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, and feminine hygiene products. Additionally, as POTS’ shower program has been temporarily closed, we are accepting body cleansing wipes and towelettes. Due to reduced staff/volunteer support on-site for processing, please contact Development Manager Angela Collard at email@example.com to further discuss your interest.
2. Volunteer: POTS could not possibly accomplish all it does without the time, talent, and labor of thoughtful and caring volunteers. We are so very grateful to many hundreds of people who become part of the solution every year. Due to the rapidly developing situation, specific opportunities and possibilities for volunteering at POTS are likewise changing. Please get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator, Stephanie Caban at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how you can help.

3. Become a POTS Ambassador: POTS is only as strong as its community. Boost POTS Awareness by letting someone who needs help or who would like to give help know about POTS, and by sharing POTS’ social media posts with family, friends, and the groups you belong to.
4. Make a Gift: POTS is addressing our community’s needs in new ways ─ and at new levels. POTS anticipates a growth in the need for funds in the coming months as our most vulnerable neighbors experience severe hardships. That’s why POTS’ Board of Directors has decided to create a special Emergency Response Appeal with a goal of $500,000 to be raised by June 30. Gifts to this campaign will help POTS be a source of strength and hope for the community. Click here to make a special gift to support POTS’ efforts during this crisis.
